Homebuyer Must-Knows
Not every builder in the BUILT TO SAVE® Program verifies every single home as BUILT TO SAVE®. It is the homebuyer’s responsibility to request this before their home is built.
Not all homes are built to equal standards. Most builders build only to bare minimum building codes. There is no legal requirement that they be constructed to high performance home standards.
If your builder certified your home in the BUILT TO SAVE® Program, you will receive a certificate as proof that the home met all the requirements of a high-performance home–an invaluable document if you decide to sell your home.
